SWE-SC needs more volunteers for our annual workshop that provides girls with opportunities to do fun hands-on experiments related to several different engineering career fields: IGEW. The next SWE-SC Book Club will be held on March 11th at 2 PM at Cabana Shores (on US1 about .5 mile South of Pineada Causeway). We'll discuss The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O’Farrell. Harcourt Books describest this as a gothic, intricate tale of family secrets, lost lives, and the freedom brought by truth, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox will haunt you long past its final page. As always, Book Club is a great opportunity to spend the afternoon in interesting conversation with interesting women – even if you haven’t read the book!

The deadline to apply for SWE-SC's annual high school scholarship is fast approaching! Do you know a woman graduating high school while residing and schooling in the counties of Brevard, Indian River and Volusia who is choosing to major in engineering, mathematics, or computer science? If so, please encourage her to apply via our Scholarships page before January 31st, 2012.

Girls can become engineers too! Registration is now open for SWE-SC's annual workshop that provides girls with opportunities to do fun hands-on experiments related to several different engineering career fields. They are also be able to find out what different types of engineers do and meet women engineers who talk about how they became engineers. Save the Date: February 18, 2012!
