SWE Space Coast Scholarship Application – Coming Soon!

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Space Coast Scholarship Program supports women from Brevard, Indiana River, and Volusia county who will be pursuing an ABET-accredited bachelor program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. SWE Space Coast Scholarships are awarded annually based on academic merit, demonstrated leadership, and potential for success in engineering.

To be eligible for a SWE Space Coast Scholarship, an applicant must:

  1. Identify as female/woman.
  2. Reside in Brevard, Indian River, or Volusia County currently.
  3. Plan to major in an ABET-accredited engineering, computing, or engineering technology program in the upcoming academic year.
  4. Not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books or equivalent.

Accredited programs are based on ABET accreditation for colleges and universities in the U.S and internationally.  The list of SWE-approved programs is the same list as the ABET-accredited programs in engineering (EAC), computing (CAC), and technology (TAC). Visit abet.org for more information.

All applicants must submit their general information through our online application form.  In addition, the following documents must be emailed to the SWE Space Coast Scholarship Chair by the deadline.

  1. Current school transcript.
    • An official transcript sent from your school is required.
  2. Supplemental information document.
    • Add information to the sections in this document.
    • Keep formatting adjustments to a minimum.
    • Use the file name LastName_FirstName_Supplemental.
  3. Letter of Recommendation

The SWE Space Coast Scholarship application opens on March 15.  The online application form, current school transcript, supplemental information document, and letter of recommendation are due no later than 5pm Eastern on Friday April 30. Documents must be emailed to the SWE Space Coast Scholarship Chair by the deadline.  There will be no exception to the deadline.
