Designed for full-time working professionals, the University of Florida Outreach Engineering Management (OEM) Program is a highly flexible engineering management master’s degree that features live instruction with classes meeting only one weekend per month (currently meeting online due to COVID19, but in-person classes will resume in Orlando, FL when possible). The infrequency of class meetings and the exceptional value of the program make it viable for students to participate from a distance.
Once in the program, students take the same five engineering courses and five business courses as a cohort, which provides excellent networking opportunities. The next program begins in August, and awards an MS degree in industrial & systems engineering. For many students, OEM is a solution to the problem of whether to get a technical master’s degree or an MBA. Students who want to get both degrees can do so through a concurrent degree option which requires only 12 more months of study (32 months to get both master’s degrees; MBA can be done online).
The OEM Program seeks to increase enrollment among female students and thereby further professional development and career advancement for these students. We will be having an online information session on 6/23/20 for SWE members, and invite you to join us. An alumnae panel will share insight about their experiences in the program, and points they considered when selecting a graduate program.
